Consultation
We discuss your medical background, lifestyle and goals to determine which type of socket and prosthesis is best for you.
Test Socket
We scan your limb with a 3d scanner, or hand cast, then make a test socket using 3D printing technology or hand thermoforming.
Full Socket
Once you’re fully comfortable with your test socket, we make the permanent socket and fit it with your prosthesis.
Coverage for prosthetics
We accept Medicaid, Medicare and most major insurers.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a prosthetic and an orthotic?
A prosthetic replaces a limb or body part that’s missing, while an orthotic supports, aligns, or corrects a limb, joint, or the spine that’s still intact. Many patients need one or the other — some need both as part of the same care plan. Browse our prosthetic options or orthotic braces to see which applies to you, or just reach out and we’ll help you sort it out.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit is mostly a conversation — we’ll review your medical history, lifestyle, and goals, and walk you through what the process, timeline, and costs look like for your situation. If a prosthetic is on the table, this is also where we start talking through socket and device options. Schedule your consultation, or ask us about a home visit if getting to a clinic is difficult.
How long does the process take from consultation to receiving my device?
Timelines depend on the complexity of your device and insurance approval, but because we fabricate prosthetics in our own on-site labs rather than outsourcing, we’re often able to move from test socket to final fitting in days rather than months. Custom orthotics follow a similar fit-and-adjust timeline. We’ll give you a specific estimate once we understand your needs — get in touch to find out yours.
Do you treat patients of all ages, from children to seniors?
Yes. We work with patients across every stage of life, from pediatric limb differences to seniors managing age-related mobility changes. See our pediatric prosthetics page for younger patients, and ask us about our ongoing on-site services for residents of partner senior living and nursing facilities.
What if my current prosthetic or orthotic breaks or needs an urgent adjustment?
Call us right away — we offer same-day emergency prosthetic care, whether or not you’re already one of our patients, and if you’re not able to get to us we can come to you for the fitting or repair. See our emergency and additional services page for what to expect, or reach out here to get seen as quickly as possible.
What conditions do you treat beyond limb loss?
Beyond prosthetics for limb loss, our orthotic services cover conditions like diabetic foot complications, scoliosis and other spinal alignment issues, post-stroke and neurological bracing, arthritis, and post-surgical support. See the full range on our orthotics page, including our AFO (ankle-foot orthosis) guide for a closer look at one of the most common devices we fit.
How often will I need follow-up visits after I get my device?
Follow-up frequency depends on your device and how you’re adapting — most patients need closer check-ins during the initial break-in period, then periodic visits after that to maintain fit and performance as your body or activity level changes. Your clinician will map out a schedule specific to you at fitting. Learn more about what the adjustment period looks like on our orthotics page, or contact us with questions about your device.
